Didja hear that?

THAT was the sound of me suppressing my instinct to strangle someone and my head popping open.

Jim’s INR is DOWN this morning, from 1.87 to 1.8.  I haven’t seen the doc yet (think he might be hiding) but now our homecoming is doubtful.  More later…. probably MUCH more.

I have asked the nurse to call our doc and get some answers and suggestions. Grrrrr.

  3. Susan says:

Keep in mind — I’m a hospice nurse — not much knowledge about INR’s BUT I’m pulling out the school books and trying to find out. Never fear — I’m on it.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, Amykins. Remember……a steak at The Keg is our goal!!!!!

Doc sent more coumadin and a message for me to be patient. When I see him personally we shall discuss my impatience…. in depth….. and see if I can take Jim home and just have his blood done daily till it is right.

I just thought of something…have you complained to them about your chair? Tell them that you plan to stay by your husband’s side much of the day and that the chair is VERY uncomfortable and could you PLEASE have a different one. I can’t believe that huge hospital does not have a chair that can accomodate family members. EVERYBODY’S COMFORT (patient AND loved ones) is their responsibility. They’re really starting to tick me off.

  6. Amy says:

I did find a chiar just like my chair but without the arms which helps a lot so I have both. I am better anyhow, and I PLAN to go home tonight if I can convince the doc.

I did stop at CVS this morning to do a blood pressure check and my bottom number was 88 both times I took it. The top, however, was 170 the first time, so I took it again, and it was 150. Think the machine is wacky?

and while you are at it, tell them that for your comfort, lobster newburgh is what all the good hospitals serve nowadays. and wine with dinner. then the chair won’t be as much of a problem, I bet……

  8. Susan says:

Yes and yes. Yes, I think the machine is wacky and, yes, either way you have high blood pressure.
