CHL Training

This weekend Rob and I went for our Concealed Handgun License training. It was an 10 hour class with the instructor reviewing lots of rules and laws. Did you know it is illegal to carry a locking knife with a blade longer than 5.5″ ? And in San Antonio you can’t carry one with a blade 5.5″ or shorter, in other words you can’t carry a knife with a locking blade in San Antonio. How would anybody know this??

In order to get the license you have to complete 3 tasks:

  1. Pass a written test, I got a 100 🙂
  2. Pass a target shooting test, I got 243 out of 250 🙂

3. Send in the paperwork to Austin for processing.

Soon there will be 250,001 names on the registry.

I fully support your right to be armed. No pun intended. Good job, a 243 is quite good actually. I would know since i only scored a 239 on mine. And now i must go and practice on the range some more.

    Love ya,
